Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kinds of foundations do you inspect?

Mike is happy to evaluate pier and beam foundations although most of his work is with more common concrete slab foundations.

2. How do I know if I have foundation problems?

The most common signs that a structure has foundations problems are:

  • Doors that don’t close properly
  • Large cracks in brickwork, in ceilings, and along walls
  • Excessive sloping floors
  • Separation of brick from window frames and door frames
  • Separation of the brick frieze trim at the corners of exterior walls

3. What will I get at the end of an evaluation?

After your evaluation, Mike will verbally explain his findings and then send you a written report documenting the present condition of your foundation with conclusions, recommendations and a plan of repair when appropriate.
